Bio

Dr. Esther Kihoro is a researcher with over a decade of experience specializing in gender studies, agriculture, climate change, and rural development. Presently, she is a key contributor to the CGIAR GENDER Impact Platform, where her work centers on evaluating the influence of development initiatives on women's empowerment in the context of climate change within agrifood systems. Prior to this role, Esther held a position at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), focusing on sustainable, low-emission livestock development. Her earlier professional experience includes collaborating with the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization, where she assessed context-specific agricultural technologies to benefit rural households.
