The 4th Global Science Conference on Climate Smart Agriculture (Global SC-CSA) will take place from 28-30 November 2017, Johannesburg, South Africa.
The 4th Global SC-CSA is hosted by Africa, under the auspices of the NEPAD Agency in collaboration with several partners and South African Government. The conference is organized under the theme “Catalysing local innovations and actions to accelerate scaling up of CSA” and arranged to stimulate and facilitate interactions and learning across sectorial, disciplinary and national/continental boundaries with the aim to examine and support local problem-solving innovations on CSA advances. The conference will focus on IMPLEMENTATION and DELIVERING RESULTS highlighting local innovations within the context of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). Thematically, the Conference will highlight applied science and innovations as well as supporting policies to engender the scaling up CSA in relation to SDGs on food security and nutrition; expanding accessible economic opportunities especially for women and youth; as well as transformative action to enhance resilience in social-environmental systems and sustainable economic growth.
