CGIAR webinar  series on climate security 2021: Putting gender at the heart of climate security, will be held on November 30, 2021 from 4:00pm CEST

Gender-sensitive and gender-inclusive peace initiatives are essential in securing sustainable and durable peace, and the gender dimension of the climate security nexus overlaps with this. This initiative endeavors to improve understanding of the gender-specific security risks of climate variability and change, and the role that these impacts play in the promotion of an inclusive and peaceful society.

This webinar aims to:

  • bridge the gap between science and policy
  • discuss the importance of land, water, food systems science for peace and security
  • identify high-level policy messages to inform the international agenda on food systems, climate, and security

Speakers

Nicoline de Haan, CGIAR GENDER Platform Director and  Sophia Huyer, Gender and Social Inclusion Research Leader for the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS), are among the speakers.
