The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit an Administrative associate I for the CGIAR GENDER Impact Platform to provide project administrative support.

ILRI works to improve food and nutritional security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one of 15 CGIAR research centres dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world. Co-hosted by Kenya and Ethiopia, it has regional or country offices and projects in East, South and Southeast Asia as well as Central, East, Southern and West Africa. www.ilri.org.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and participate in high-level meetings, conferences, workshops, project events.
  • Provide logistical support for travel such as bookings, accommodation, airport transfers, visas, and travel expense reports.
  • Facilitate project activities such as procurement, recruitment requests and follow up on their delivery.
  • Review and process payment.
  • Compile expenses support documentation.
  • Update and maintain all project databases and filing systems.
  • Set up and follow up on appointments, attend to visitors, telephone calls, action/work plans and other inquiries.
  • Prepare various correspondence, reports, minutes, other relevant material and ensure dispatch of the same.
  • Manage the program calendar.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in business administration/management, project management
  • At least two years relevant experience
  • Good understanding of project management practices
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Fluency in written English
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated professional level of attention to detail and accuracy of work.

Post location: The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya

Terms of Appointment

This position is at job level HG 10. The position is a 3-year fixed term contract, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding. ILRI offers a competitive salary and benefits package which includes: pension, medical and other insurances
