Dryland Systems: Planning Workshop for Implementing the Gender Strategy
Abstract
It is globally recognized that gender gap in research and development is a major constraining factor in equitable development and global SDGs (food security and poverty reduction). FAO recently reported on gender-gap in access to information and services too. The CGIAR research activities up to date, although have done good work on gender, are not sufficient and much greater effort is needed: gender research will be an explicit performance evaluation criteria for future research activities.
The objectives of this workshop are i) to initiate the implementation of the DS-CRP gender strategy, ii) to develop a Gender Research Work Plan and Budget (GWP&B) for 3-year (2014-6) phase of implementing the Dryland Systems Gender Strategy
