Bio

Britt Basel is a professional photographer and a social scientist.  She specializes in supporting inclusive approaches to addressing social and environmental challenges. Since 2008, she has been a National Geographic photo instructor, with publications ranging from National Geographic Traveler India to The Washington Post. As a practitioner, Britt holds an MSc in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources and is a PhD Researcher investigating bottom-up approaches for water security. Britt has lived and worked in nearly 50 countries, collaborating on a wide array of projects and engaging diverse communities. In the upcoming workshop, Britt will be sharing insights and practices for communication professionals and journalists to tell more impactful and inclusive visual stories through their images.
