Bio

Raheli is a research and development officer in the environment division at Tanzania Industrial Research and Development Organization (TIRDO). 

Nazayoeli is exploring alternative energy to firewood aimed at helping women get enough time to concentrate on agriculture productions which are now affected by a prolonged drought, flood, and eruption of diseases as the impact of Climate Change. The focus of her research is to use crop residue available in a different area to make biomass briquettes. Her research also addresses the dangers posed by open fire to the health of the women, deforestation, and the risks of sexual harassment because of travelling a long distance in search of firewood.

She holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science from Dr. Y S Parmer University of Forestry and Horticulture, India and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences and Management from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania.
