Bio

Dr Himanshu Pathak works as Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India; and Director General, Indian Council of Agriculture and Research. He has been associated with agricultural research and development in India and abroad for the last three decades. His area of research and education has been soil science, climate change, environmental pollution and abiotic stress management. Himanshu was the Director of ICAR-National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management, Director of ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Principal Scientist and Professor, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Co-Facilitator, Rice-Wheat Consortium, and visiting scientist of the Institute of Meteorology and Climate Research, Germany and the University of Essex, United Kingdom. Himanshu is a fellow of the Indian National Science Academy; National Academy of Science, India; National Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Humboldt Foundation and also Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Awardee of Indian Council of Agriculture Research and the President of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi.
