Accelerating equality in agri-food systems conference: Call for contributions now open

The call for abstracts for the international conference “Accelerating equality in food, land and water systems: Driving solutions through evidence and learning” is now open, until April 11, 2025. The conference will be held from October 7-9, 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa.
We invite researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and civil society to submit abstracts for presentation at the 2025 Gender Conference in Cape Town. This is an opportunity to showcase innovative research, share real-world solutions, and contribute to advancing equality in food, land, and water systems.
We invite submissions for full sessions or individual sessions. Proposals should clearly align with the conference aims and themes.
Full session
Full sessions will feature presentations of scientific work, capacity development, and panel discussions, each lasting 90 minutes. We welcome contributions from a diverse range of actors — researchers, policymakers, development practitioners and civil society — and encourage the sharing of various perspectives and approaches aligned with the conference objectives.

Individual contributions - oral presentations
For oral presentations, we invite studies for which data collection has been completed, with preliminary or final results. Contributions should demonstrate methodological rigor, whether employing quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods, with clear research questions, robust methodology, theoretical framework, well-articulated findings, and actionable recommendations or policy implications. Collaborative and inclusive research is strongly encouraged, particularly involving researchers from diverse organizations

Individual contributions - poster presentations
We invite poster presentations of on-going studies, including those showcasing preliminary ideas or early-stage research. Submissions highly encouraged include those that showcase the work of early career researchers and those that promote collaboration from diverse organizations, disciplines and career stages.
