Data in Emergencies (DIEM) Monitoring System - Household Survey 2022: Round 3 (Nigeria)
Abstract
The FAO has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). The FAO launched a Round 3 household survey in Nigeria on 23 September 2022 to monitor agricultural livelihoods and food security during the beginning of the harvest period. Data collection resumed on 24 October 2022. For the third-round survey in Nigeria, a random sample of 1,398 households was surveyed. The sampling targeted specific states, including Adamawa, Boron, Katsina, Yobe, and Zamfara. The survey aimed to be representative at the state level.
