Abstract

The global environment is changing at an alarming rate as a result of human activities. Agriculture represents the dominant form of socioenvironmental interaction and consumes more natural resources than any other human activity. The complexity of decision-making associated with the demands of sustainability in agriculture requires new approaches that recognize the intimate and dynamic interactions between the human population and the environment, and thus addresses the multiple dimensions and scales of global problems such as land degradation and biodiversity loss, particularly in the context of climate change
