RESPONSE OF GRAM TO FERTILIZER APPLICATION IN THE BLACK COTTON SOILS OF BELLARY UNDER DRY LAND FARMING
Abstract
A STUDY CONDUCTED ON BENGALGRAM IN A SPLIT PLOT ON DEEP BLACK SOILS DURING THE RABI SEASON 1968-69 TO 1970-71 INDICATED THAT VARIETY ANNIGERE -1 RECORDED 16.2 % AND 31.7 % HIGHER YIELDS OVER B.G 482 AND GWALIOR -2 RESPECTIVELY. THE ADDITION OF FERTILIZER AT HIGHER DOSE VIZ, N3 KG AND P2O5 20 kg/ha RESULTED IN HIGHER NUMBER OF BRANCHES AND PODS PER PLANT , 100 GRAIN WEIGHT AND OVERALL YIELDS
