Join the CGIAR Policy Innovation Science Program and CGIAR Gender Equality and Inclusion (GENDER) Accelerator at the 8th KIPPRA Annual Regional Conference as we contribute to key conversations on youth employment, gender inclusion, human capital, and emerging agricultural sectors across a three-day forum aimed at creating a platform to discuss and explore pathways and opportunities to future jobs for the youth.

DAY 1 | Sub-theme 1:  Human Capital Development

CGIAR Policy Innovation Science Program presents research insights on aligning education systems with evolving labour market demands, fostering TVET, and integrating technology-driven learning

Presentation: “Soft Skills Training, Locus of Control, and Labor Market Outcomes of Youth: Evidence from a Randomized Intervention in Kenya”

DAY 2 | Sub theme 4: Gender, Equity, and Inclusion

CGIAR GENDER Accelerator will provide an overview of the Gender parity and social inclusion in the future of work. The common session will be chaired by UN Women.

DAY 3 | Sub-theme 6: Emerging Sectors in Agriculture & Agribusiness

CGIAR Policy Innovation Science Program presents research highlights on CGIAR maximizing opportunities for emerging sectors in agriculture and agribusiness. The common session will showcase evolution of youth engagement in agrifood value chains in Kenya. The session will be chaired by Dr Mukani Moyo from CIP.

The parallel sessions (09:40 - 10:40 EAT) under this sub themes will include:

Parallel session 1 on Transforming Agriculture through Climate-Smart Practices, Agri-Tourism: Pathways to Sustainable Youth Employment which will be chaired by Dr. Joseph Karugia from ILRI.

Dr. Rahma Adam from World wish will also chair parallel session 2 on Youth Employment Opportunities in Kenya’s Blue and Green Economies. The session will provide an overview of findings of research on “Youth employment opportunities in Kenya’s blue and green”

In parallel session 3, Dr. Isabelle Baltenweck will make a presentation on “Youth engagement in livestock production and marketing in East Africa”

Sub-theme 8 | Data Management for Job Creation

The CGIAR Policy Innovation Science Program will participate in a panel discussion on the role of data management in promoting job creation during the common session.
