Bio

Angela Meentzen joined the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center in 2020 as a CIM expert. Meentzen combines research in rural and indigenous communities in Latin America and Asia with coordinating development projects on women´s and indigenous rights, agricultural production, adult education, organizational processes and public policies. As an international gender advisor, she has worked with a broad range of actors and development agencies, such as GIZ, EU, IDB and UN. She studied in Peru and in Germany. Her PhD in Sociology on gender and agency in rural Aymara communities of Peru is from the Free University of Berlin, Germany.
