Anne Rietveld

Bio

Anne is a scientist at the Alliance of Bioversity-CIAT. She is the gender research coordinator for the Low-Emissions Food Systems Initiative and she leads the WEAI-Climate Learning Grants project on ‘Strengthening women’s empowerment in the design of a Living Lab approach for climate resilient, low-emission food system development in Kenya and Colombia'. Anne holds a PhD from Wageningen University, and has a background in rural sociology, gender studies and farming-systems research. Her work focuses on gender equality and women’s empowerment, agro-ecology, agricultural innovation, responsible scaling, and youth in agriculture.
