Bio

Cynthia M. Caron holds a Ph.D. in Development Sociology from Cornell University.  She is currently Associate Professor of International Development, Community and Environment (IDCE) at Clark University (USA), where she is also an affiliate faculty member in the Women and Gender Studies Program. She has nearly 20 years of research and work experience in international development working with a number of UN organizations (UNOPS and IOM) as well as non-profits such as Landesa and Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund. Her research interests center on women's empowerment through access to land and natural resources. At Clark, she teaches courses in qualitative research design, project management, land tenure and property rights and adolescent girls' empowerment programming.
