Bio

Eliud Rugut is a Social Entrepreneur, a smallholder farmer & innovator who is co-creating solutions for the African continent. He is the founder of Silo Africa, an organization that passionately advocates for empowerment of women and youth to have more access to land, & the mitigation of postharvest losses through the provision of on-farm digitized grain silos to smallholder farmers. Eliud is also dedicated to promoting the use of clean cooking stoves to reduce deaths resulting from indoor pollution, reliance on biomass and its environmental impact. He is a firm believer in scaling locally-led climate adaptation strategies and their importance for sustainable food systems in Sub-Saharan Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics & Sociology and a Postgraduate Degree in MSc. Project Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology.
