Bio

Giulia is a Researcher in Shaping Sustainable Markets at the International Institute for Environment and Development. She has seven years experience in applied social science research, with a background in sociology and anthropology. Giulia’s work sits at the intersection of food, environment and society. Her previous research has addressed a range of food system challenges, including supply-side barriers to vegetable consumption, chokepoints in global food trade, and food safety practices in informal dairy markets. Giulia is a part-time PhD student in the Centre for Rural Policy Research at the University of Exeter, where she is researching the cultural and sustainability dimensions of seaweed as a food in the UK.
