K Kavitha

Bio

K Kavitha is a Senior Scientific Officer in nutrition research at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). Kavitha has academic training in foods and nutrition and has over 13 years of experience in interdisciplinary quantitative and qualitative research on issues related to human nutrition and gender, project management and training experience (both at field and program level). Kavitha has been collaborating with the University of Reading, University of Cambridge, University of East Anglia, Government of Telangana, National Institute of Nutrition, and other national and International institutes for pursuing the research activities on gender, nutrition, social capital, social networks, social norms, inclusion, diversity, and capacity building. She has been in the role of mentor for the Borlaug-Ruan Internship Program at her institute.

Kavitha is currently pursuing a PhD in Development Studies from Tata Institute of Social Science in India. She holds a post graduate Diploma in Public Health Nutrition from Public Health Foundation of India and a MSc degree in Foods and Nutrition from Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University, India.
