Bio

Dr. Mercy Ngunjiri serves as a research agronomist and GIS specialist at IFDC. Her areas of interest are in balanced crop nutrition; fertilizer practices, perceptions, and implications of fertilizer use and efficiency; and soil and landscape processes and its dynamics as it pertains to multi-scale environmental and hydro-pedological processes and spatiotemporal variations. Prior to joining IFDC, Ngunjiri worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the USDA-ARS, Dale Bumpers Small Farms Research Center, and at the University of Arkansas. She holds a doctorate in agronomy and soil science from Purdue University, a master’s degree in soil science from the University of Eldoret, and a bachelor’s degree in soil and land use management from Moi University.
