Bio

Mirjam Taapopi is an Environmental & Social Safeguards Officer for the Centre for Coordination of Agricultural Research and Development for Southern Africa (CCARDESA). She is currently working on the Food Systems Resilience Programme for Eastern and Southern Africa, which, among others, strives to address key drivers that continue to widen the productivity gap between male and female farmers in participating countries. As a Safeguards specialist for agriculture-related programmes within CCARDESA, Mirjam has the responsibility to promote gender mainstreaming activities in all programmes.  Prior to joining CCARDESA, she worked as an Agricultural Scientific Officer in her country of origin, Namibia where she was involved in capacity building for emerging farmers.
