Prof. Andrew Campbell

Bio

Andrew Campbell is acting as CGIAR Interim Executive Managing Director from August 24 to December 1, 2023. He most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). Andrew has held influential roles in sustainable agriculture and research management for over 30 years, including serving on the CGIAR System Board from 2016–2023. He chaired the Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases in 2020–2021. Andrew has written widely on land care, sustainability and the science–policy interface. He is still involved in his family farm in southeast Australia, where his family has been farming since the 1860s.
