Rachana Upadhyaya

Bio

Rachana is a doctoral researcher studying disaster sociology at the University of Bristol, UK. She holds an Erasmus Mundus Double Master’s Degree in gender and women’s studies and international relations. Rachana is affiliated as a research fellow to the Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies, a policy think tank in Kathmandu. She works as a guest editor for New Angle: Nepal Journal of Social Science and Public Policy. Rachana’s expertise and interest lie in intersectionality theory and its application in understanding everyday risks, insecurities and disaster.
