Bio

Rachel Voss is a Gender Specialist based at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center in Kenya. Her work focuses on social inclusion in maize seed systems and related value chains, including research on gendered product preferences, intrahousehold dynamics and differentiated access to productive resources and technologies.  Prior to joining CIMMYT, Voss researched gender in the context of improved seed adoption, climate change adaptation, information and communication technology-enabled extension, soil management and access to financial services in Senegal. She has a BA in International Studies from the American University and a PhD in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, US.
