Sahar Alnouri

Bio

Sahar Alnouri, Mercy Corps’ Senior Director for Social Inclusion, leads global initiatives in gender equality, youth empowerment, and protection. With over 15 years of expertise, she has managed diverse humanitarian and development projects worldwide. Notably, Sahar led the USAID Feed the Future Advancing Women's Empowerment in Agriculture Activity at EnCompass LLC. At Mercy Corps, she pioneered cross-agency gender integration as the first Global Gender Advisor, and later directed programs in Beirut, overseeing a $35 million portfolio and a team of 120 individuals. Sahar’s hands-on experience includes extended assignments in Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq, in addition to offering critical gender technical assistance in 15+ countries. She holds a master’s in international peace and conflict resolution from the American University.
