Salome Mwangi, a passionate advocate for grassroots empowerment from Nakuru County, Kenya, embodies the spirit of women's leadership in agriculture. Joining GROOTS Kenya in 2013 under the Access to Markets project, she has been dedicated to uplifting her community through various initiatives. Salome's extensive training in livestock keeping, horticulture, and advocacy has equipped her with the skills needed to drive meaningful change.Salome's involvement extends beyond farming; she actively participates on the boards of local institutions such as the Will Dispensary and Kimcasa Primary School. Her commitment to women's empowerment is evident in her role as a mentor, providing life skills training to fellow women in her church community. In her agri-business endeavors, Salome cultivates a diverse range of crops, including maize, potatoes, peas, cabbages, and carrots. Notably, she has also received specialized training as a Trainer of Trainers in soil testing, tree planting, and farming techniques, underscoring her dedication to sustainable agriculture and soil health management. As a panelist at the Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit's side event on women's roles in soil health, Salome brings invaluable insights and firsthand experiences to the discussion, ensuring that grassroots perspectives are central to shaping strategies for inclusive agricultural development across Africa
