Bio

Sangeetaben Rathod from Bayad district in Gujarat is a grassroots leader associated with SEWA for over 5 years.  Coming from a poor family of agricultural labourers, heR family was barely able to make ends meet. She used to attend classes for 5 days a week in the Govt. public school and toiled hard on the farms during the weekends to earn a meagre remuneration that she used to support her family and also buy school supplies. 

After finishing her highschool, Sangeetaben learned basic computing.  With her computer skills and aspiration to grow.. she quickly graduated from a member in SEWA to a grassroots leader, an organizer, a data manager and master trainer. In SEWA she also learnt the importance of savings and became a member of the “Bachat Mandal” (Community Savings group).
