Bio

Sanjiv de Silva is a Senior Regional Researcher at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI). His work centers on building and strengthening institutions that facilitate social-ecological systems for socially inclusive and ecologically sustainable human development. He has worked across South and Southeast Asia, including Myanmar, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, often working across scales from policy and regulatory frameworks to community-based natural resource management. This work has encompassed a range of water and land management contexts, including participatory management of surface irrigation; groundwater management; community-based management of inland capture fisheries and wetlands governance.
