Bio

Sophia Huyer is Gender and Social Inclusion Leader at Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA) as well as Director of Women in Global Science and Technology (WISAT). She has engaged in research and policy analysis on global gender equality issues relating to science, technology and sustainable development for over 20 years. She was with the Gender Advisory Board of the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development (GAB-CSTD) until 2014, as well as Senior Advisor to the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) from 2009-2013. Huyer held a Fulbright Fellowship at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 2000 and is a member of the Editorial Board of the World Review of Science, Technology and Sustainable Development. She received her Ph.D. from York University in Toronto.
