Bio

Tanmoy Bhaduri is an accomplished professional with a unique journey from journalism to the development sector. With nearly a decade of experience as an independent multimedia storyteller, he transitioned to the development sector in 2020, where he  continues to make a meaningful impact.

Currently, Tanmoy serves as a Communications and Knowledge Management Consultant at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Delhi. In this role, he contributes to the implementation of various activities under the communications strategy, including writing and copyediting articles, blogs, case studies, and more. He also plays a key role in maintaining IWMI's digital presence and supporting external relationships.

Prior to IWMI, he was the Senior Communications Manager at SwitchON Foundation, where he developed and implemented innovative communication strategies for the foundation's programs. 

Tanmoy has a rich history of achievements and recognition in both the media industry and development sector. Some of the notable awards, grants, and fellowships  received include the Pulitzer Centre Crisis Reporting Fellowship, Asian Environmental Journalism Award, Impact Journalism Grant, and Earth Journalism Neatwork Asia Pacific Grant, among others.

Throughout my career, he has covered under-reported issues across 25 Indian states, including gender, health, human trafficking, women's and children's rights, insurgencies, migration, climate change, land rights, and conflicts. His work has been published in over 50+ reputable publications, including The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, Aljazeera, and The Times of India.
