Children out of school: Evidence from the Community Survey
Abstract
This briefing draws on a detailed analysis of the 2007 Community Survey in South Africa to explore patterns of access and exclusion and focuses on four key questions: How many children have access to basic education? In which areas of the country are children most likely to be out of school? What are the characteristics of children who are out of school? What are the key factors that shape children’s access to basic education?
