Abstract

This technical note outlines the design and development of the cognitive test which assessed students’ problem-solving an critical-thinking skills in addition to assessing learning progress in maths and English across the 2016-17 school surveys administered at Wave 2 in India and Vietnam. Young Lives is an international study of childhood poverty, following the lives of 12,000 children in 4 countries (Ethiopia, India, Peru and Vietnam) over 15 years.
