Effect of Humidity on Conidial Morphology of Phaeoisariopsis personata
Abstract
Microscopic examination revealed differences in the conidia of P. personata (Mycosphaerella berkeleyi) which developed on groundnut plants stored at different RH. After 24 h, mean conidial length ranged from 84 µm at 100% RH to 38 µm at 96% RH. At 100% RH, there were >10 septa compared with 2-3 at 96% RH. There were significant differences in both mean conidial length and number of septa between all RH treatments. Another significant increase occurred in conidial length after 48 h exposure to 100% RH
