Enhancing financial literacy, HIV/AIDS skills, and safe social spaces among vulnerable South African youth
Abstract
This report describes the findings of a four-year longitudinal study of young people aged 14–24 in KwaZulu-Natal. Researchers examined a range of issues, including the relationships among poverty, orphanhood, social isolation, and risky sexual behaviours. Findings indicate that these factors are associated with higher chances of risky sexual behavior and nonconsensual sex, particularly among girls. Moreover, these vulnerabilities often go hand-in-hand
