The Global Mapping of Pleasure: A directory of organizations, media and people who eroticize safer sex

Abstract

The Global Mapping of Pleasure is a collection of 45 case studies describing innovative programmes, organizations, media and individuals around the world which eroticize safer sex. Its aim is to inspire and inform sexual health educators and professionals, people working in development agencies and organizations, those working in the erotic media and sex industry, and anyone else who wishes to redress the sex-negative, fear- and disease-based approaches that dominate the global sexual health and HIV discourse. The case studies - which represent organizations and people from six continents and include projects for a wide range of target groups - show how safer sex and sex education can be promoted in a positive, empowering way by considering the role of pleasure and desire in sexual behaviour, and giving people tools and skills for a sexy, safe and healthy sex life
