Abstract

The 2000 Annual Report, describing ICRISAT's work during 1999, is themed 'Science with a Human Face', the new motto of the Institute introduced by its new Director General Dr. William D. Dar. The 2000 Annual Report provides fifteen one-page illustrated perspectives of how ICRISAT/partner research is impacting the lives of the dryland poor in three regions: Asia, Southern and Eastern Africa, and Western and Central Africa. It further includes a bibliography of scientific journal articles by ICRISAT staff that were published during the year; a list of all special-funded projects that were active during the year; workshops, conferences and training courses held; a list of research scholars pursuing advanced degrees at ICRISAT in partnership with universities worldwide; a multi-page photographic collage of media articles written about ICRISAT/partner work in newspapers and on the worldwide web during the year; a staff list; and a summary of ICRISAT's funding and financial status
