Implementing gender-smart agriculture in Eastern and Western Africa

Abstract

A gender-smart agriculture (GSA) approach takes into account women’s priorities and access to technology, resources, and information to facilitate climate resilience through equality and agency. It catalyzes and targets climate-smart agriculture (CSA) solutions for women and youth, increases their control over productive assets and resources (e.g., climate information, climate finance), improves their nutritional status, and increases their leadership and decision-making (e.g., in local and national climate adaptation).
