Inequality in Educational Opportunities and Outcomes: Evidence From Young Lives Data in Vietnam

Abstract

This paper utilises Young Lives longitudinal data on 2 cohorts of 3,000 children in Vietnam, as well as a wealth of official Government data, to present a broad picture of the education sector in the country, focusing on inequality. Young Lives is an international study of childhood poverty, following the lives of 12,000 children in 4 countries (Ethiopia, India, Peru and Vietnam) over 15 years.
