Integration of gender equality and social inclusion considerations into CLARE: The ‘what’ and the ‘how’

Abstract

This scoping study identifies opportunities to advance gender equality, social inclusion, women’s empowerment and transformational change in the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CLARE) research framework related to adaptation to climate change. This includes identifying points at which interventions might be made. The authors look at state-of-the-art research, lessons learned from previous work, and critical gaps in knowledge and project planning and structure in this field. Agriculture and natural resource management is one of five sectors covered. The study was commissioned by Canada’s International Development Research Center (IDRC) and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
