Abstract

Outpatient clinic statistics are presented for each of South Africa's 9 provinces. Key conclusions are listed which include: the wide variation between provinces in the levels of mental health service provision; a reliability on mental hospitals for services; severely under-resourced services for children; and a distinct poverty mental ill-health link
