Production of fertile progeny from interspecific incompatible cross Cajanus platycarpus × C. cajan

Abstract

This paper reports on the use of embryo rescue and tissue culture techniques to produce fertile progeny from the interspecific incompatible cross Cajanus platycarpus × C. cajan. Variation in some traits (flower colour, flower morphology, seed colour, seed morphology and pollen fertility) in BC2F1, BC3F1 and BC4F1 is discussed.
