Protocol - The impact on investment rates of reforms to the enforcement of contracts

Abstract

This is the protocol for a systematic review which will provide a synthesis of the evidence about the impact of policies to enhance contract enforcement on investment. Investment is defined as physical capital accumulation or intangible productive asset accumulation. It will not focus exclusively on the issue of what kind of policy interventions work, but will ask the questions of why some policies work and others do not, in which contexts and by which mechanisms.
