Abstract

Although migration between Bangladesh, Nepal and India has been widely discussed, there is very little information on spouses of male migrants and their social and health vulnerabilities of on both sides of the border. The Population Council in India and Bangladesh, and CREHPA in Nepal, undertook a multi-country study, with support from the Department for International Development (DFID), to assess the profile, economic conditions, lifestyle, prevailing physical, sexual, and mental health status of spouses of male migrants in India, and left-behind spouses in Bangladesh and Nepal of male migrants working in India
