Study on the Effect of Dyeing Process Variable on Soyabean treated Jute Fabric
Abstract
Desized, scoured and bleached hessian jute fabric were treated with natural amino acids obtained from soyabean seed extract to study the effect of dyeing process variables and their colour interaction parameters including colour strength. The properties of hessian jute fabric are: warp 215 tex, weft 285 tex, ends per inch 14, picks per inch 10, 202 gram per square metre and thickness 0.86 mm. Effect of single and double mordanting treated with different percentage of soyabean extract were studied for the fabrics for optimization of the process. The results indicate that 75:25 ratio of Harda and aluminium sulphate at overall 15 % application level offers maximum K/S value for modified jute fabric with soyabean extract. Dyeing operation was carried out by using a natural dye, Babul at different pH level, where the best performance was obtained at pH 12 at dyeing temperature 65oC, time 60 min, MLR 1:20, salt 5 gpl and dye concentration of 30 %
