The UK and developing countries: a deeper look at issues surounding Trade in Services and Free Trade Agreements
Abstract
A review of the evidence base and the state of academic and policy-facing knowledge in areas informing trade and development. This includes preferential market access, free trade agreements, rules of origin, agriculture, trade defence instruments, trade facilitation, trade in services, investment flows, aid for trade and institutional design and coherence. Following on with an exploration of the overarching institutional architecture for Free Trade Agreements (considering the history of the current institutional architecture in the EU and what they suggest for best practice) and a more detailed analysis of trade in services. This research was funded under the Department for International Development’s Policy Research Fund
