The GenderPro Capacity Building Programme, hosted at the George Washington University in partnership with UNICEF, is a first-of-its-kind course designed to educate international development professionals on the best approaches to improve the lives of women and girls around the world.

GenderPro is a rigorous, competency-based educational & credentialing programme for mid to senior level development and humanitarian professionals.
GenderPro was created to prepare gender professionals to perform their work more effectively, using internationally recognized best practices & approaches.
The core content draws on resources, case studies and exercises that are relevant to both practitioners and policymakers.
Cross-cutting issues, such as violence against women and girls (VAWG), humanitarian assistance, and ethics in research and practice, will be addressed throughout the programme.
The course consists of about an hour and a half of work per week over about four months and an applied practicum focused on a work deliverable. Two 16-week cohorts are administered per year. The total cost of the course is $2500. Payment will be due after acceptance to the course, but before the course begins.
The programme features:
- A combination of online learning and action learning projects facilitated by expert mentors
- A competency-based credentialing assessment that can be taken with or without taking the course
- An open-source resource library
- A training centre for organisational partners.
