Bio

Avni Mishra is an Associate Scientist, Programme Coordinator at the CGIAR GENDER Platform, Evidence Module, based in New Delhi, India. Mishra has experience in evidence mapping, synthesis and communication for policy influence. She has managed large-scale research for development on gender, climate change, food security, elderly healthcare and livelihood enhancement. At the CGIAR GENDER Platform, Mishra is supporting the climate change and gender agenda by coordinating the gender and climate change hotspots project and development a learning agenda for climate-smart agriculture and gender. She is assisting projects that seek to understand government and multi- or bi-lateral support to women in agriculture-based livelihoods affected by COVID-19 in African countries. Her interests lie in contributing to evidence generation around the gendered impact of climate change and evidence-based policymaking.  Mishra has an MSc in Climate Change from Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex and MSW in Rural Development from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She completed her bachelor’s in History from Delhi University.
