Bio

Eunice Wangari Muneri is an Environmental Social Scientist with more than 15 years’ experience in climate change, gender, agriculture, pastoralism and development finance. She is currently an Independent Consultant for the CGIAR GENDER Impact Platform’s Evidence Module. Muneri has experience in evidence mapping, knowledge development, impact assessment and communication for policy.

Muneri has managed and delivered complex research projects and consultancies for organizations such as the African Development Bank, Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, United Nations Development Program and United Nations Division for Sustainable Development. She has also worked in various capacities for the Institute of Development Studies (United Kingdom), the University of Oslo (Norway) and the Centre for International Environment and Resource Policy (CIERP) (USA) and the Co-operative Bank of Kenya. 

Muneri completed her PhD in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies at University of Sussex. Her research on gender and climate change adaptation was part of a wider EU Horizon 2020 project, named Wellbeing Ecology Gender cOmmunity – Innovative Training Network (WEGO-ITN) that mapped strategies of resilience and sustainability in communities. She holds an MSc in Environmental Sciences from the Wageningen University and Research (Netherlands), an MBA in Strategic Management from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Bachelor's in Environmental Studies at the Kenyatta University in Kenya.
