Shreya Chakraborty

Bio

Shreya Chakraborty works with the CGIAR Research Initiative on TAFSSA: Transforming Agri-Food Systems in South Asia at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI).

Prior to joining IWMI, Chakraborty was the Executive Director of the South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs), a regional water policy research organisation in South Asia. She conducted and led interdisciplinary research in areas of water security, climate change adaptation and policy, socioecological systems, groundwater governance, and gender-water linkages.

Chakraborty’s academic specialization is in Geography and Regional Development and her specific research interest lies in integrating the science and the socioeconomics and politics of water resources at levels of theory, methodology and policy.
