The Government of Nepal (through the Prime Minister’s Agricultural Modernization Project in Banke's Rice Super Zone) provided a 50% subsidy to farmers for farm mechanization, with emphasis on labor-saving mechanical weeders that have been demonstrated to be ergonomic and easy to use by women farmers. .
